Members of the Board of Directors of the Iranian Society of Molecular Medicine visited the Yara Institute of Wound Healing and Tissue Regeneration to learn more about its scientific, research, and clinical capacities and to discuss opportunities for expanding joint collaborations.
The delegation included Dr. Soleimanifar, President of the Iranian Society of Molecular Medicine; Dr. Zolfaghari, Vice President of the Society; Dr. Vishteh; and Dr. Saltanatpour, members of the Society’s Executive Board. They were welcomed by the directors and researchers of the Yara Institute.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mohammad Hassan Soheilifar, Deputy Head of the Yara Institute, presented an overview of the Institute’s structure, activities, and achievements.
He highlighted the activities of the Institute’s three research groups—Medical Laser, Photodynamic Therapy, and Regenerative Medicine in Wound Healing—as well as its research laboratory and two specialized clinics: the Wound and Varicose Vein Clinic and the Skin, Hair, and Laser Clinic. He emphasized the Institute’s capacity to bridge scientific research and clinical applications.
Dr. Soheilifar also noted that the Institute had published 274 scientific articles over the past five years and implemented 22 research projects. He further stated that the Medical Laser Research Center ranked third in grant acquisition and financial resource mobilization among clinical research centers with no approved budget and more than ten years of activity.
Dr. Soleimanifar, President of the Iranian Society of Molecular Medicine, described the scientific and clinical infrastructure of the Yara Institute as a valuable platform for translating academic ideas into applied research and innovative therapies. He emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration among scientific institutions, professional associations, and clinical centers.
During another part of the visit, the directors of the Institute’s three research groups presented their major activities and flagship projects. Dr. Heidari introduced the achievements of the Regenerative Medicine and Wound Healing Group, Dr. Shirkavand presented the activities of the Photodynamic Therapy Group, and Dr. Kashmiri Neghab outlined the projects of the Medical Laser Group.
At the conclusion of the program, members of the Board of Directors of the Iranian Society of Molecular Medicine met with the management team of the Yara Institute, including Dr. Nazeri, Director of Research and Education, and Ms. Majidian, Executive Director of the Institute, to discuss potential areas of cooperation.
The main topics discussed included the development of interdisciplinary projects, student and researcher exchange, the joint organization of scientific events and workshops, and the expansion of collaboration in fields such as regenerative medicine, exosomes, smart wound dressings, and optogenetics.
The members of the Iranian Society of Molecular Medicine also expressed their readiness to actively participate in the 12th Yara International Wound Congress.
